So I have heard that I am completely out of the loop on this blog thing! Kamie is now 41/2 months old and I am just now starting. (I know, I am a horrible mom!) I am going to try and sum up the past few months in just a couple paragraphs....maybe. Last January we had a wonderful SURPRISE! I found out I was pregnant. The first few months were very long as I had morning sickness in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Once the second trimester started, I was loving being pregnant. Even though we were not expecting to have a baby we were thrilled by this time! Finding out that a little girl was on the way made it even more real to us. It was a very HOT summer, but it passed quickly. (The 8 watermelons helped keep me hydrated!) The third trimester was filled with lots of Tums and Kamie's hiccups. Before we knew it, September was here and friends were starting to have their babies. At my last OB appointment, things became very real when my dr. said that I probably wouldn't make it to my due date. (2 days from then) After leaving the dr., we ran some errands and the contractions started. By 11:00 that night, I was pacing floor. We left for the hospital around 3am (after Nate took a shower :) ) and our lovely daughter did not decide to bless us with her presence until 3pm. It was a long and hard delivery, but the Lord gave us a healthy, beautiful little girl!
The first month adjusting to being parents was a whirlwind. Kamie quickly became Daddy's little girl. Nate loved playing with her and watching her watch him. Kamie did not like to be swaddled and kicked her blanket off EVERY night. She loved to lie in her bouncer.
The second month was filled with new things. Mommy had to go back to work, but we were blessed to have a wonderful Nana that could watch Kamie when Nate had to work. Kamie slept through the night at 6 weeks! Can I say again that we have a wonderful baby! Kamie was able to visit Mamaw and Papaw a couple times and this made their day! (Mamaw has more pictures of Kamie than me for my entire life!) Kamie loves to sit in her swing!
By the third month, we had a pretty good routine. Kamie was taking a morning and afternoon nap and was sleeping about 9-10 hours at night. This month was filled with lots of shopping trips. Kamie became very familiar with her seat and stroller. We had a wonderful Christmas with all of our family. Kamie was spoiled rotten and we loved every minute of it! We also got to take an overnight trip to Mamaw and Papaw's. (Nate had a hard time letting us go for a whole 2 days!) Kamie's playmat is definitely a favorite.
Month four was noisy! Kamie learned to use her voice. Evenings were filled with playtime and Kamie telling us all about everything. :) We had a few trips to the movies and Kamie did a great job sitting and watching. She LOVES TV! (She fits right in with mom and dad.) She was starting to enjoy tummy time a little more every day. She was really looking around and was nick-named Nosey. :) She learned to pull off my glasses and loved playing with her bugs on her seat. Her playmat is still a favorite.
